Calf Raise Powercage

Profile:    Compound exercise for the calf muscles

Suitability:    Beginner, Intermediate / Advanced

Target Muscles:    Gastrocnemius

Equipment:    Barbell, Power cage, Mirror, Calf block

Start / End Phase

 

 

 

 

Mid Phase  

 

 

 

 

  • Use a weight that allows you to control the exercise with strict form suited to your training goals. Stand in the powercage facing a mirror so you can observe your technique

  • Position your neck underneath the bar and step on to the Calf block with the first third of your foot

  • Take a shoulder width grip on the bar and lift the bar off the rack leaning forward si it rests onto the powercage

  • Inhale, then exhale whilst standing up on your toes until you feel a good stretch in your calf muscles

  • Inhale whilst lowering your heels until are below your toes and you can feel a good stretch in your calfs
